December 2010
2010,
You were good to me. We had ours ups and downs, but for the most part you were great, and at least you were there in the first place. Let’s hope 2011 can do even better. I’ve got some plans for this one.
10-Day 2010 Reflection Challenge, in a half-hour
I finally have a moment to unwind, so I figured I’d do this “Year in Review”-type challenge. New Year’s is in about twenty-four hours, though, so I’m going to do this all tonight.
Day one: A few things you will never forget in 2010.
This current trip to California!
Visiting Canada. Montréal was amazing.
I think that I’ve grown so much more this year than...
Random French guy on Hollywood Blvd.: Excuse me, can I take a picture with you?
Me: Ummm...
Him: Just one picture...
Me: Ummm...
Him: ...
Me: Ummm... sure, why not?
*He proceeds to pose for the picture, placing his arm awkwardly behind my back D: *
the only downfall of going away for the holidays
I probably packed on a couple extra pounds, LOL, thanks to Jack in the Crack and In-N-Out every single day! Plus, I’m staying with my auntie in Murrieta, and she looooves to cook. She. Will. Not. Stop.
the thing about New Year's Resolutions
You want a fresh start. It’s a new year; I get it. But if you really, honestly, truly wanted to accomplish the feats listed in your resolutions list, why would you want to wait a couple more days to begin the process? That’s basically procrastination, which seldom leads to the results we want, since our focus wasn’t all there from the start. Don’t you agree?
Take a look at...

Granted, it IS nice when a guy is considerate by letting the girl choose what to do when they hang out or go on a date, but that gets old. Word to the wise, fellas.
EDIT: After seeing this post, Ryan said it was bogus because if he suggested camping, I would not participate. WITH YOU I WOULD. I am not 100% estrogen.

thanks for rubbing it in our faces. sincerely, those in the snow
Haha, I’ve never experienced a White Christmas, so you guys are lucky, too! I’m contemplating whether or not I should go snowboarding here just to make up for the fact that I didn’t get to see the snow there…

kashmeare replied to your post: Honestly, though,
SO JEALOUS that you’re in Cali. Have fun out there and be safe!!
I’ll admit, I was a tiny bit jealous of you all back at home, with the White Christmas and everything (I’ve never experienced that before), but… fuck it. I’m in California! I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Haha. Thanks, Khloe :)

Honestly, though,
I wish there was snow in Murrieta! But even after seeing all those tempting Facebook pictures of the winter wasteland that was once Virginia Beach, I still don’t feel like going back there, haha.

Day twenty-three: How much money do you think you spent Christmas shopping?
That’s confidential! And I’m not even done, to be honest. I need to buy one last thing. I thought I’d have enough of it, but I don’t, and this is the most important present yet :x Unfortunately, it’ll have to wait until I come back from California. Well, I can start the process on the plane,...
can't let this ruin my holiday
I was going to send this complaint to Delta Air Lines, but I don’t remember my SkyMiles number (which is required), and I don’t care enough to look for it.
I didn’t write that for nothing, though! So, here it is:
You cancelled my original flight, which was fine, because I was switched to another one that departs at around the same time that the original was supposed to...

what a blissful holiday
I don’t know if anyone understands how hard I’ve been trying to enjoy this holiday. Shit keeps piling up. People come and people go, in many more aspects than just one. Money comes and money goes. Time comes and, well, it goes, too. I’m not used to this, but I guess it’s a part of growing up, and I’ve been trying so hard to push past the obstacles that prevent me from...
please don't think I planned to lose to the night
Passion is pain made visible through love.
- Mr. Clayton Singleton, my high school art teacher
That man helped me discover where my heart belonged, growing up. In the midst of dried up paint tubes and torn up sketchbooks, I found comfort and solitude. I found happiness.
Now, I’m rediscovering that passion all over again. It’s still comforting, just knowing that it’ll always...

You will always be my first love. You will never leave me, mistreat me, or use me. You give me back what I give to you. You never make me feel bad for getting busy at times, even if it’s been weeks… you’re still there for me. I think about you constantly, sometimes I feel obsessed with you. It…

3 A.M., we meet again
While doing some last-minute Christmas shopping at MacArthur’s new Forever 21 (which, by the way, is definitely an upgrade from that mess of a store they had before), I came across a pink Victorian-esque engraved picture frame, which sparked the perfect gift idea for my parents. All I have to do now is find time to put it together within the next three days. Looks like I’ll be losing a...
sick of the blame game
Day twenty-one: Your favorite Christmas movie.
Elf!
Day twenty-two: Somewhere you would want to spend Christmas one year.
Anywhere with the people who mean the most to me. I don’t care where.

its a necessity
Good point.
ydhs answered your question: To all of my artist followers,
try other mediums, you’ll get inspiration from working with something else.
Very true. I love experimenting.
Day seventeen: A photo of you in the holiday spirit.
Too lazy to find one… I posted some in the beginning of this challenge, though!
Day eighteen: Favorite Starbucks holiday drink.
White chocolate peppermint mocha. Hands down.
Day nineteen: Whose gift was the hardest to buy this year?
I honestly haven’t even begun Christmas shopping :x but I find it especially difficult to figure...
a cure
I’m not using ruled notebooks next semester. Over the duration of winter break, I plan on buying a couple sketchbooks and collaging the shit out of the pages. They’ll be my new stationary, and they’ll bring a new meaning to doodling on my notes. I stole the idea from the Walls Notebook.
Well, that’s one method I’ll use to get out of this rut.
To all of my artist followers,
I’ve been in a rut for an entire year. That’s fucking depressing.
How do you stay motivated to make art?
the color of money
Bury your dead.
This quote popped up into my head randomly a moment ago. I’ve heard it before (it was the name of one of my old favorite metalcore bands; I used to listen to that stuff in middle school/ninth grade) but I’d never once given it a thought as to what it actually meant. In a very recently-acquired epitome, I realized that to “bury your dead” means to let go...
